I've got a 2015 XLT and everything I've read shows that it has a 28-gallon gas tank. The gauge and DTE seem to match (gauge shows empty when DTE is near zero). With less than 10 miles showing on the DTE estimate, it only takes 22-23 gallons to refill. Is this a common problem with how the fuel gauge measures remaining fuel and a mismatch between how much fuel is actually there?

Every Modern vehicle has a reserve. When you are at Zero, you are not at Zero.

You are on flat ground when filling? We used to get 31ish when our Gauge was at Zero DTE on our 15 and 17 EL's. EL's have a 33 Gallon tank.

My 2016 Limited will take 25 gallons at 0 DTE. Your experience of 22-23 gallons does seem low. I try to refill around 1/4 tank (or 100 DTE), and it usually takes 21 gallons.
