Total PITA. Have to keep changing state. Anyone know of a fix??

Reboot your Sync System 2 Times in a row.

Press and Hold Power and Next Track at the same time until screen goes black. Wait for it to come back up to the Home Screen and then do it again.

Check your location.

Send results. Next step will be to enter Diag Mode and force a resync of GPS System.

I went back a reread, and might have misunderstood your issue.

So is it showing you in the wrong spot? Or when you go to search it defaults to the wrong State? That should be a setting.

When I do a voice search “find an address” it continually thinks I’m in Michigan vs NY. PITA. I work from my car and enter 10-15 addresses a day. WTF. Any help would be appreciated.

If I do that, I lose all my favorites in the GPS right?? Did you mention there was a way to get into diagnostic mode, although I'm not sure what to do once I'm in there. TIA.

Diagnostic mode won’t help. That was when I thought it was detecting your GPS location incorrectly.

There is a setting stuck somewhere that is defaulting to the wrong State.

That is my recommendation.

Yes, it will remove yourself favorites and most settings.

Just a guess here but did you buy your truck used? Did the previous owner live in MI? Maybe a leftover HOME address hiding in there somewhere? I am assuming once you enter the correct state it guides you to the destination correctly? I have been getting the "No GPS" sign in the corner of my display lately. I think it has to do with a recent Android update but that's only a guess due to timing. Good luck fixing yours!

Do you use Google Assistant or Siri ever?

If you use AndroidAuto or AppleCarPlay the phone assistant becomes the default voice service in the car. The google voice assist is SOOOO much better than all of them but especially anything a car company could ever come up with. I can even yell at my wife at home when she leaves her phone in her purse! haha You also get satellite view on maps etc etc... Worth a try if you haven't yet. Waze is great for long hauls because it tells you were cops are hiding but around town I prefer google maps.

Checking the home address is a good idea... I have a tin foil hat and avoid putting home addresses in Car GPSs. My uncle made a joke about what happens when your car gets stolen and it stuck with me. If they steal your car they know you aren't home! haha

Home address is on my insurance card and registration that are in the glove box. I guess I could make my glovebox a mess to make it more difficult to find. They also have the garage door clicker. That is why I always lock the door to the garage.

My father in law recently got a ticket because the cop was annoyed. We spent 10 minutes digging through different registrations in his glove box and we still couldn’t find the correct one for the trailer. I think if we could have simply told him that we didn’t have it, he may have left us with a warning.

I haven't had an insurance card in a vehicle for 5 years or so... went digital. Other people rarely drive my car but if needed I can always text or email it to them. Registration is a tougher one. The Audi has a special cubby for the manual to the left of the steering wheel that isn't really noticeable so I keep it in there. I don't have my plate for the navi yet so I'll have to get creative with that one soon.

Obviously if someone really wanted to find your house they could... I just don't like leaving them a nice shiny button on the dash.... I do however use it on my phone so I can still ask the car to take me home and it will, just only if my phone is present.
