Grinding in aw4

I keep putting off checking fluids and its going to be the first thing I check. But but but wanted to see if you guys have heard of or heard about this.

I did the brown wire mod over a year ago. Didnt run a switch for about the first year. I put in the switch some time ago and every now and then run the all wheel drive.
In all wheel I get a grinding sound when the all wheel drive is kicking in or if I stomp it. Also under heavy acceleration I get pull to the right. None of this happens in 4W drive though.

Its not so much “grinding” but its the closest sound I can explain it with.

Ideas?

that happens to mine. its the transfer case engaging. the front tires are gripping and the transfer case is grinding from 2 different wheel speeds. dont try do to it a lot but it happens to mine and no problems except under heavy acceleration and/or up hill.
