Has anyone ever had water collect in rear doors?

2017, 56K miles. Never had an issue with any water collecting inside of doors.

Just completed a 1350 mile road trip, 800 of which was what I refer to as "in the car wash" (non stop torrential rain). After I got home, I noticed when accel / decel there was a sloshing noise coming from the driver's side rear door, which seems to have a good amount of water in the bottom. It is slowly leaking out when parked on an angle, but don't want to leave it in there.

Is there a procedure / provision / plug to remove or should I drill a hole in the bottom of the door and plug it when drained. If drilling hole, does anyone know the best, least intrusive location to do so?

Very common. On the bottom of the door there is a little plastic plug, it is technically the drain. If you pull it out, all that water will come out. I have taken the plug out on and left it out on 3 different Expeditions, never clogged again.

Exactly what bloodhound said. Also recommend blowing compressed air in there and/or vacuum cleaner to clear out any debris.

Very common. On the bottom of the door there is a little plastic plug, it is technically the drain. If you pull it out, all that water will come out. I have taken the plug out on and left it out on 3 different Expeditions, never clogged again.

I wish mine would stay running. Took the plug out, but so much dirt and dust has gathered that the hole plugs up.

I hit it with the shop vac, or compressed air, and blow the crap out.

I finally gave up and left the plugs out. It made it easier to lean the drain with just a key. I didn't notice a downside but ymmv

I have had this issue. It seems if you park outside a lot it is more common from the debris running down the window into the door. On the 2017, there are 2 plugs on each door, both under the bottom weather seal. Be sure to check and clean out both of them.

Common issue - there have been several posts on this forum during the past few years about it.

If the water does not drain quickly after plug removal - use the non-clasp end of a sturdy zip tie to clear the opening. If you use a metal items, it may scratch the door paint and accelerate rusting.

It literally flooded out as soon as I pulled the plug. Couple of interesting things. 1) it flooded from the drain plug at the back of the door, but also came out of the door skin fold at the front. 2) There was not a drop on the passenger side and 3) I do not see plugs on either of the front doors.

I don't recall the front doors having them, just the rears.

That appears to be the case. If there are 4 doors with the same method of sealing outside elements and this method is known to be imperfect (water will get in) why would a drain be provided on 2 of the 4 doors?
