My 98 expy has a leak on the hatch glass. I called my local dealer for a replacement and they said the seal was not availible anymore and i couldnt find a replacement online. I then tried 2 junkyard seals and they both still leaked.

My question is can i somehow adjust the rear glass or stiffen up the seal?

does it keep coming off? I had a problem with mine falling off not staying up I ended up super gluing mine so it'd stay.

No never fell off just didnt seal right. I found a thread and read this post. ...
Hello all, finally got time to fix my back glass leak.

tore everything apart, found where the seal goes over the pinch weld. The metal was all wavy. I took a adjustable wrench around the whole weld seam, bent it outword so the weather strip fit tighter to the glass. Amazing, the dealer three different times has never been able to fiquire why it was leaking. Solved!!! Thanks for everyones input.

I did the same with mine and it no longer leaks while using the washer fluid, havent took it to the car wash yet to check it out more.

I have an '03 XLT 2nd gen and very rarely I'll see a small streak of water coming down the rear in my mirror but it's never significant so I have let it be but maybe you could get some of your own weather tripping and try to fashion a thicker seal for the glass?
