I’m looking to replace my DVD Nav deck in my 2011.

I want it to be CD (DVD is nice, but not necessary), Apple CarPlay and/or Android Auto compatible and have Bluetooth.

It would be super-great if it could use the backup camera in the truck, and support for an additional camera for a future add-on would be great.

It needs to be compatible with the stock speakers until such time as I can replace them and wholly overhaul the sound system.

With the factory system, I don't know if the APIM is starting to take a shit or what is happening, but every couple of months, I'll have a week of it refusing to play music through the Bluetooth connectivity.

The deck displays the BT icon indicating it's linked, the phone functionality (speakerphone) works without any issue, but the BT audio will either claim that it's not connected to a BT source, or more infuriatingly, it will say that it's connected to my phone, the phone apps think they're streaming to the deck, but dead silent with no activity on the equalizer display.

No combination of any troubleshooting tips I've found on Google make a difference. After about a week or so of it doing this, it just miraculously starts working again.

Any recommendations on a deck that will fit my needs? I'm liking the looks of the Kenwood and Pioneer stuffs.

To retain some of the factory features, such as the backup camera, and also eliminate the APIM, you'll need to start with at least an iDatalink Maestro (RR or RR2). Pair that with the new headunit and it'll remove and take over all APIM duties. Go to Crutchfield to build out a new setup.

As far as recievers go, if you find any sort of DD HU that has a disc player in it, it'll be DVD. The technology is on the verge of phasing out I don't know if it makes any difference anymore to have one format over the other. If anything these days, you'll see more units that don't even have a disc drive (100 vs 15 @ Crutchfield).

Kenwood & Pioneer are both solid units.

This is probably the most reasonable quality unit you'll find:

Not trying to thread jack, but how difficult is it to swap the same unit from another expedition? Mine works great except the screen is yellow.
