Does plastids have a gloss version? What is the finish like? Can anyone recommend a specific
plastidip product that would work with my vehicle color?

Thanks

My painter paints over it and it always holds fine, no issues. If you paint grille only thing you will have is a rock chip very now and then

My dealer did not want to paint it due to it being chrome. I got exact match paint coming from my local independent shop. 15 bucks per can for 12oz aerosol.

Does anyone know how to remove it? I see some screws on the bottom of it, maybe they attach it with 3M tape?

There are 4 nuts on the inside of the hatch that hold that piece on. you have to remove the interior trim and vapor barrier to gain access to them and the wire connector. Just take your time 'cause the clips are kind of fragile. Also you have to remove the pull strap and 2 "scrivits" under the top glass on each side of the wiper motor.

Thanks for the info. I am going to do paint to match on this chrome and my badges. Can someone tell me the best way to prep these surfaces?

For my badges and expedition limited logo, I removed them, scuffed them with 3m red pad, washed with Dawn ,Applied 2 coats of duplicolor self etching primer , did not sand, hit it with what ended up being 6-7 coats of sem color match base (I had runs that I had to sand and start over a few times). Finished with duplicolor clear. I did all of this in my upstairs bathroom shower due to the cold weather in MI. I may redo the front badge and the expedition limited badge once it gets warmer and I can work in my garage.

If I redo them, I will sand after priming, and do a more careful inspection after each coat has dried.

My dealer found the part but it wasn't easy. I am using a 2005 paint to match piece. My dealer said it came form something g that I believe he called a "closed catalog". The part was 95.00. I will share everything once it is done. Thanks to all who have helped me, I appreciate it.
