Yeah, you need the "shield" piece, not the cover. It's still available at Parts Giant for about $65 .

Consider putting something like a small bath floor rug on your seat that will protect the edge of the actual seat when you plop down on it, or if you roll in and out of the seat entering / exiting the vehicle.

That's the same piece I replaced for the exact issue the OP and y'all are having. Easy fix and not to bad on the wallet.
