Looking for help from you who have done this.

I wana get a good touchscreen head unit. And new speakers an one or two subs in the rear. I have the standard audiio system. No stock subs in truck.

Nothing crazy, just for a nice sound.

Any suggestions on brands and/or what i will need to to. Or a price range for all this. Andy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Pioneer for the headunit, I like the avh 3300 for the price. $400 and it comes with DVD player Bluetooth and built in Pandora with a dash kit and wires from sonic electronics and you can add on navigation later for $270 or get it all together for $650. As far as the subs and door speakers it depends on what kind of music you listen to. Personally id leave the door speakers as is and add tweeters unless your ballin like that..... All in all I'm thinking around 1200 for everything including door speakers

for a direct replacement door speaker if needed... i really like polk audio... but as stated if they sound good now with no crackle i would just add tweets..

on the sub i think 1 12" sony or for a little more money a kicker would sound nice and have the deep base with out being tooo much

for best sounds you will need a 4 channel amp for you speakers and a 1 channel for the subs. or if you dont want a super pounding system, just something basic get a 5 channel. kicker makes some good 5 channels.

I just did a HU (Pioneer), front door speakers (some cheap 35 dollar Pioneer 3-way), sub (10" JL) and amp (Alpine 1 channel for sub). I left the 2nd row speakers in since they seem to provide mid bass of sorts.

I wouldn't bother with an amp for the speakers, at least not until you've listed to them with just the HU powering them. I can turn mine up pretty loud with just the HU powering them. I don't need anything crazy :p

I need to take video of it one of these days. It seems to suffice for what I listen to, though another sub would be nice :p

same! haha i have 4 3 way... 3 3way speakers. my driver rear door speaker doesnt get power for some reason so the speaker is in an old vans box and connected to my surround sound system in my room. haha but a 4 channel would help that.

You'll need a wiring harness to tie the new head unit to the factory plug, you will also need an amp kit if you're going that route.

+1 for PIONEER...there are a few brands to choose...use crutchfield.com to find the latest that will fit your budget/liking/truck...then buy from cheaper source/site

x2 on clarion. Also, spend some money on sound deadening. Not only does it make speakers sound better but the cab of the truck will be much quieter. And just get a couple rolls and do it yourself

Would just a new HU and one 10' sub be okay? And just one amp for the sub?

Nothing crazy, just a nicer sound. Thanks :)

My speakers/amps that came from the factory are still in place. All I added was a Pioneer AHV-P4200DVD double din headunit with options, a JL Audio 1000w amp and 2 alpine type-r 10's in a ported box and it sounds great!
