Im from Las Vegas and 3 months ago I went to sams club and Just replaced all tires on my 04 expedition xlt 4.6 2wd with Michelin ltx at2 with the original manufacturers specs. 265 70/17. and with the original Ford alloy wheels that came with it. I did all under the original specs because i dont want to sacrifice the soft smooth and comfortable ride, if not only the tires that went out, thats the reason i chose Michelin because it is known for its durability.
Then i found out that my Michelin tire is so loud on the road and the ride is rough and bumpy .im so very dissappointed.
The original tire that came with it is a continental trac that only last at 38k miles and maintaining a 35psi in all of the tires and im satisfied with its smooth ride.
I noticed that the tire pressure on the Michelin that the tire guy put on it is 44psi.
The last maintainance i did with Ford is 50k miles and the mechaninc put a 40psi on it ..
I changed it all to 35 psi and noticed a slight difference with the ride...Now im confused and worried that it may affect the safety and durability of the tire and its summertime and Las vegas heat is terrible as of now we are hitting peak at 112 for 2 days now and more to come as the forecast said.
Also recently i removed all the tires and clean all the brakes and put it back and Torque it to 114 since thats whats listed in my ford manual.then when i inspected the receipt on my Michelin from sams, i noticed that the listed torque that they did on it is 144 ft.lbs..thats why its a real "PITA" for me when i removed it.
Im CONFUSE! can somebody help me on the proper torque and tire pressure on this tires? Please Help because i am planning to go to california this weekend.. Thanks in advance for the Input Guys!!
