Been surfing the forums for about a month now, waiting to start posting until I had the keys to my Expedition in hand and now I have them so here I am!
My Story:
For the last few years I've been a sports car guy. Picked up an 04 Subaru STi back in 07 and loved the hell out of it until it was stolen and stripped back in January of 09. My next vehicle was a 04 BMW M3. Drove it for the last year and loved the hell out of it and I still do. Unfortunately, I didn't love the car payments (they weren't THAT bad but I'd rather be paying out $0) so after a little wheeling and dealing with my folks, my mom is now the proud owner of an M3 and I now own their 04 EB Expedition (white w/tan trim and interior) free and clear! Bonus for keeping the M3 in the family, I still get to drive it now and then!
Plans:
So what do I plan to do with it...well I'll be happy to tell you! I'm not a big fan of the brown trim all around so per my fiance's suggestion (god I love that woman) I'm Line-Xing all of it black and then having them apply a Line-X bra (makes me thing of my white Chuck Taylors with a markered black toe/sides when I was a kid).
The next project will be a Ready Lift leveling kit to get her up a little more in the air. I've already removed the running boards so that gives the look of a little more clearance in the middle but it just isn't cutting it. Then I need to hunt down the rims I want (actually I know exactly what I want, they're Davesexplorer's rims....who makes them?!!!) and figure out what tires will pair well with my need for maximum snow traction (snowboarding) while riding well on the beach (surfing).
After that, who knows....thinking about redoing the interior so that its dark gray (with that spray that's being discussed in the expy tear down thread), stereo system (although its gotta be stealth considering the break-in rates in downtown Seattle) or a nice brush guard to enhance the look of the Line-x bra.
Anyways, that's my story and my plans. I look forward to sharing pictures as I go through the process of change my Expedition from my parents style of vehicle to my style of vehicle.
Cheers!!
