Hey everyone! Thought of something interesting to post. On a scale of 1-10 (one being extremely uncomfortable and ten being the best) how comfortable is your expedition to drive? Ride quality, interior comfort, extra options, etc. I'm curious to see everyone's answers.

I would have to rate mine a 7. My tires give a howl on the road and my front shocks need replacing soon. Other than that, pretty damn comfortable!

Rate yor expedition

I would give mine an 8 out of 10.
I have had sports cars, basic luxury cars and gas sipping small cars and I enjoy driving the expedition the most.
I can go about anywhere on road and off road and I am prepared for all kinds road and weather conditions.
It has been loaded down with about everything, firewood, 8 passengers and luggage, a washer and dryer, a dishwasher and gas stove, dogs, and about anything I can fit in there.

Plus the size and power needed on the highway when traveling.

The only down side I gas mileage, but that is expected.

6.
need a new driver seat foam thing. Power sucks with factory PI 4.6 in it. Decent ride sits nice and high.

We just bought our 4th expedition over the last decade or so:

1999 xlt
2003 xt
2006 limited
2012 limited

To date I would rate the 2012 a definite 9 out of 10. Very comfortable ride, very quiet, very smooth. As I mentioned in another post, I am having a hard time deciding whether to drive my wife's new expedition or my Audi!!!!

Why the heck are my attachments upside down?

I would give it an 7 of 10. good ride for a full framed SUV but nothing beats the old 1988 Oldsmobile 88 royale brougham.. why nobody makes pillowtop seats anymore is beyond me....

With the lift it's firm but I like firm it feels like a truck. The 39s are big and heavy so the power suffers. But I still give it a 8

As she sits now, 8.5/10. I am comfortable to drive this thing wherever and whenever, from a full tank I have about 420 miles in mixed driving range and around 500+ highway miles so I don't have to get out often to fill up.

-.5 for sloppy steering due to an unknown part being bad (haven't found it yet, everything checks out so far)

-1 for the poor hp : weight ratio. 200hp isn't enough to get a 6000lb+ suv up to speed quick enough when paired with a 3.31 lsd

Probably a 9/10. The passenger side dash has a rattle that shows up now and then. Overall I like it.

Tell me about it!! I punch it and it goes away sometimes lol

The window regulator busts loose and rattles. That's my problem anyways.

Give mine a 6/10 for physical comfort. Stiff tires don't take any small road imperfections well. It rides like a truck though which is fine by me. 10/10 for confidence and reliability. Truck has seen 3 feet of snow in 3 hours and didn't even come close to almost being stuck.

For the past several years, I have been driving a 1991 Bronco Eddie Bauer. Compared to that, the 2008 Expedition XLT I bought in May is like riding in a Lincoln Continental. I would rate it 9/10.

Whenever I drive it the thought "I love my truck" runs through my head at least once.

I will be honest, I feel that every morning. Especially the cold -30 temps we get here in the winter on some mornings. When it starts right up with no problem, it really makes me proud to own such a hard working truck. Wouldn't trade mine for a brand new F150 any day!

When mine is 100% I share the same thoughts. :) Even when its not I still love to drive it.

But as far as comfort.... I used to think it was very comfortable ride but my 2010 Taurus Sho is significantly more smooth and quiet. But my Expy is 10 years older so.......

Can't beat the throttle response and instant torque of the blown 5.4 though. It's quiet dramatic when I have not driven it in a while. Woo Hoo!!

I'm 6'7", and kind of had to buy my truck. But all things considered, I'm glad I did. Only thing I'd criticize it on is the visibility, my Trooper was much easier to estimate the distance between the vehicle and surroundings as this truck is, but then again, the Expy is way bigger.

Sound 9/10: This truck is WAY quieter than anything I've ever had before.

Comfort 8/10: Seats are a bit stiff and too wide... But oh so much room!!!!

Handling 7/10: Pretty good, way better than the trooper, but I still know it's a truck on the freeway and am turning!

Utility 9/10: POWER!!!! This thing tows like a beast.

Economy 5/10: 9mpg city, 14mpg hwy.

Reliability 10/10: always starts, never stranded, always keeps going and if something does ever go wrong, she lets me know way ahead of time.

I would give mine an 8. I don't mind the A/T tires being a little louder that the stock Continentals. In fact when these need replaced I going to replace the P rated tires with something a little heavier duty for towing. The seats are as comfortable as any car I've driven and there is plenty of room for the whole family to ride comfortably. So far it has taken us everywhere we have wanted to go.
