HVAC / plenum door noise

Started getting a sticking or cracking plastic noise from the plenum box (above the glovebox) when the heat or AC is turned on. I have a 2014 EL Limited / 3rd generation. I recall years ago the plenum doors cracking on the Panther platform (Crown Victoria, etc).
Anyone have this or know of a solution besides a dashboard removal w/ new plenum doors? I know there were recalls for blower motor and maybe the resistor. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I do have a Expedition Limited EL 2010. The cracking noise is still there even if I disconnect the actuator. What is causing the noise then? It stops if I disconnedt the AC control panel at the dasboard.
