Hey folks I am new here. just introduced myself in the introductions section. I do have a question. My engine seems to have a chirp in it somewhere. Its a 97 EB with the 5.4. It seems to do it under acceleration, startup, sometimes shutdown or whenever it feels like it. I thought it was the belt tensioner so i sprayed some lube in where it rotates but that didnt change anything. Can someone shed some light on this issue? I also cannot get it recreate this consistently. It definitely has a mind of its own.

ktw2000 i know what you mean. I just got done replacing both of mine with a set from pacesetter but the chirp comes from the front of the engine. I will have to check the serpentine belt but I was wondering if the belt tensioner couldnt still be the problem. Something in there doesnt like to be torqued as it seems to chirp once rpm is increased or decreased sharply not gradually.
