I own a 2017 Ford Expedition EL, XLT, with a V6 engine. It is my second Expedition. It is in great shape with just over 90,000 miles. We like to use it for road trips. I am concerned that the injectors could start going bad. This happened to my first Expedition, a 2003 Eddie Bower model, at about 95000 miles.

My concern with my 2017 is that they could go bad while on a road trip and the vehicle goes into limp mode. Two questions:

1. Is there a way to disable limp mode?
2. It is worthwhile to be proactive and get them replaced before they go bad?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Completely different design. Injectors regularly going bad on the EcoBoosts really isn't a thing.

Limp mode is limp mode for a reason, it exists to prevent further damage. Sometimes powering the truck off and back on will disable it unless the condition that caused it still exists.

If you haven't changed plugs in more than 50K, I would do that for sure.
