I have a 2007 Eddie Bauer. Just purchased in jan with 115000 miles. I have had no issues with it until recently. When on the highway traveling from 50-65 mph, on four occasions when lifting off the gas to slow done due to traffic in front of me and then slightly acclerating as things get moving, the transmission starts to down shift from overdrive, up shift, down shift, then conduct a very hard shift. The noise is extremely loud and I can feel the transmission shift as the loud bang occurs. It does not happen when I am accelerating quickly or in any other mph range.
I took it to a dealership and cannot reproduce the problem. Any thoughts on what to do or look at?

There are posts in the 3rd gen section about trans problems with the adaptive shift technology used. I think the usual repair mileage has been just over the 110,000 mile mark and is not cheap.
Your call on what do. I would get additional opinions from other shops.
