2022 Expedition Limited with 79,000 miles started throwing a Blind Spot System and Cross-Traffic System Fault. Later diagnosed as a SODR module internal failure with a U0233 stored in IPMA. These sensors are integral to the operation of my vehicle. No cause for the failure just "it sometimes happens." To repair the module, it will cost over $1000. Some have said that there may be debris. The dealer had the bumper off and would/should have seen any debris. I cannot even turn off the error messages.

Very disappointed repairs are now calculated in thousands of dollars.

By rights what did you expect? If you could afford $75k to purchase the SUV new back in 22, another $1k for a repair you should be able to afford that too after 3 years. An SUV like that has around 50 modules. Sure, could be a bad sensor, wiring or the module in your case. Well first you gonna get a new module, then programming and install. Then pray everything works.
Or get Ford may be to code that feature out / permanently turn it off.
Another option is to go for a second opinion to another Ford dealer and get it re diagnosed there.

While Ford has done quite well addressing things one department is constantly lacking behind. That is the software department. There are just so many bugs on brand new cars and trucks as they were likely not tested properly before release and everything just got shoved out the door. The sh*t anwers / reasoning I got from Ford they were borderline beyond stupid and some bugs are still not fixed yet. That department really needs to be looked at. I may be dumb, but not that dumb.

Depending on your relation with your dealership, they may or may not do wonders. The car is only as good as your dealer. Doesn’t matter what brand. I am just very lucky my Ford dealer is awesome, that’s why I keep going back.
