iPhone 17 not connecting to WIRED CarPlay

Wife got a new iPhone 17, running the latest software. 2020 Expy is up to date as well. I was able to get it to connect for voice calls wirelessly, but it doesn't give full CarPlay features, as in the expo screen doesn't show the phone screen. If I use the wired cable it shows the CarPlay tab on the touchscreen, but when you press it nothing happens. If I use the same cable to connect my iPhone 16 it works as it should.

I've already tried a restart/reset of both phone and car, also changed cables, neither phone has any content or privacy restrictions for CarPlay, and I removed all other phones from the CarPlay memory, etc.

Anyone have any work arounds or fixes?

My wife was having similar CarPlay issues with her iPhone 16 on our 2020 Expy. She updated from iOS 26.1 to iOS 26.2 and problems went away. Don't know if that will help on your iPhone 17.
