Recently purchased a new 2024 Expedition and have had in intermittent problem with the iPhone loosing call connection with the radio. This has been both while plugged into the radio AND when connected by Blue Tooth. I’m under warrantee and have an appointment later this month, but the dealer says they have not experienced or seen any reports of this. I wish I could replicate the connection problem, has anybody else experienced this?

Yes, it is a simple connection. BUT it works until it dosen’t for no apparent reason. I’ll be on the phone, everything is good, and then all of a sudden the radio comes on and the phone drops out. I’ve even had the radio start playing with the phone information on the screen AND the phone plugged in with a hard wire connection to the radio.

1) Check if there's an update available for your Sync system

2) Check if there are any updates for your iphone

3) Make absolutely sure you don't have any other bluetooth devices nearby that might be stealing your iPhones attention away from the Sync system (such as bluetooh headphones, Airpods, bluetooth speaker, etc).

4) Remove the Sync bluetooh connection and Carplay profile from your iPhone, and make a fresh pairing.

With regards to number 3, at work I would occasionally have my airpods disconnect from my iphone mid call. It was infuriating. I then realized after 2 months, that it happened every time I rebooted my computer. I forgot I had once paired the Airpods to my computer, and every time it rebooted it would try to connect and steal the Airpods attention away from my iPhone.

The connection issue continues and I found out that an 18 March 2025 Technical Service Bulletin 25-2107 was issued on this titled “General System Performance, Stability, And Intermittent System Reboot, Intermittent Wireless CarPlay Or Android Auto Function, Phone Related Concerns With Intermittent No Audio Or Static, Navigation/Global Positioning System (GPS) Related Concerns Through CarPlay And Android Auto, Alexa Function Consistency And Stability”

In addition to other Ford vehicles, is specifically references the 2022-2024 Expedition indicating the “Issue: Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions:
  • General system performance/stability/intermittent system reboot
  • Intermittent wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto function
  • Phone related concerns with intermittent no audio or static
  • Navigation/GPS related concerns through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Alexa function consistency and stability
  • Charge Assist/Public Charging app inoperative (e-Transit only)

This may be due to a concern with the software in the APIM.

My dealer made the corrections and now I’m waiting to see if it was successful.
