Yes. Some of the Newer APIM's don't work though. Make sure you check the Forums and do a lot of reading. It should work on your 2016 though, assuming you have the original APIM.

What is accomplished by “jailbreaking”. I’ve heard the term but don’t know what it is.

Basically unlocking it so you can do more modifications to it.

I’ve done it. Was pretty straightforward. Must pay close attention to your current version build date, and the new version build date you need to upgrade to.

Be patient… closely follow instructions. Did this on my 2016 Expedition. Only thing side affect I’ve noticed is occasionally the streamed audio kinda skips a beat; hardly noticeable. Other than that works great. With the new look/ features that slight occasional hiccup is no big deal.
