Went to put in a Kicker Key 200.4 over the weekend to power my door speakers. I used a PAC Audio harness and wired them up with DT connectors to make them quick plug and play from the harness to the amp. After firing everything up I found that I could not raise the gain on the amp any higher than min without the clipping lights engaging (volume was on par with the stock output). The amp is smart enough that it won't go beyond this output point, which is MIN. So this leaves me disappointed that I can't get more out of my system at the moment than what the stock can already provide.
I do know from the F-150 crowd that the system can be converted to a "low level" signal output by using Forscan. @HushCarAudio (not sure if you're still around), do you know if this would help my situation and being able to get more turning out of what I have going on? I know from reading the F-150 boards that this is not the same as RCA levels, but will it lower the noise floor so the amp can do what it's supposed to?
