Bend the wires over to the correct side of the plug. I'm not saying bend the one in the pic to the left but to actually flip them over to the other side of the base.

I hope you can understand that because its confusing to read but it is 100% your problem.

I'll try to explain it another way.
See the socket from the car, notice the metal pin on the left. If you flip the wire (not shown in the pic) of the bulb to the opposite side of the base it will line up with that metal pin. Then do the same to the bulb wire shown in the pic.

Yeah I thought of that but wanted to ask jdmastar and here to see if it was just something wrong vs. try and bend it and potentially break it and not be able to get money back.
