I have a Eddie Bauer EXL 2007 with just 28,000 miles. The brakes felt funny, and I had no brake warning indications on the dash. Took it to a dealer who tells me the Master Cly has failed. I need to report this both to Ford and the CPA as it is no longer a warrany item because of time.

The master cylinder seals probably went bad due to age. Mileage would have nothing to do with it. Actually, the more you drive it and cycle the piston in the MC, the better of you are as the seals actually get lubricated when used. With low mileage, they can go bad faster. Reporting this would be a waste of time IMO.

More info on the seals plz. Can they be replaced independently or do you have to replace the whole master cylinder?
