My 2001 black XLT Sport 5.4 with 106k miles.............. and my new to me 1999 Eddie Bauer 5.4 with 95k miles

If my 1999 ever bit the dust, I wouldn't hesitate to get another Gen1 with fairly low mileage like your two. For 20+ years, mine has provided reliable transportation with few expenses other than normal maintenance. And it's simple enough that I can do most of that myself.

My 01 black XLT sport has been very reliable with easily fixable issues, and has 280k miles. After watching all the later gens roll through, I would say the late model gen 1's, with pi heads are the most reliable of the gens at this point.
Nice finds on the low mileage ones!

Beauties. I love my 2000 EB. 250k miles and runs perfect and garage kept. If I ever need replace I’ll look for another one. Great reliable trucks with tons of torque.

I have the exact same as you and I will and hopefully succeed the high mileage record for the 1st Generation Expys, and I always come here for any issues that may arise and I'm confident in this Family of ours !
