Panda how exactly did you traverse the interior to exterior without causing a leak? Can you show more exactly you were able to poke through? SSV access plug?

On our work trucks (VHF/UHF radios), we just drill a hole in the roof. there is an antenna mount that we use that seals to the roof and doesn't need calking.
For the other holes (light bar, go light, etc we use color matched calking to seal everything up after wires have been ran.

Hi Panda, I see you replied on 6-27 but I just now saw this, thx for the pics!

I thought you had a SSV and ran it through a hole in the roof etc.

Is that q meant for me or panda? If me, I dont have an SSV. All of our vehicles at the sheriffs office are "normal" expeds (1 EB, 1 XLT, 1 XL) that we pressed into service as police vehicles.

We wanted SSVs but we were not able to locate a single 4x4 SSV (not to mention 3 of them) anywhere south of the mason/dixon.

i think if you drill a hole through...use rubber grommet...then use silicone to seal it...you should be fine
