Ok, I have had this expedition since February 2014. 120000miles. so far its been a great truck. I have one small problem that has turned into a couple now. not sure if they are related...

Problems as they have emerged:

1) have had an issue with the electrical charging system that at low idle in gear the lights tend to flash or get brighter and dimmer in a continuous fashion. thought it was the alternator going out so replaced it. seemed to help for a little while but now its come back. so far that hasnt caused any major issue other than being annoying. replaced alternator with driveworks Reman unit.

2) driving home from vacation, fuse blown and lost cruise control and backup assist sensors. Replaced but keeps blowing at random, only thing i am doing different then before was running 2 tv monitors for kid in back seat, not sure the blow fuse is related to that though because power for cigarette plug is on another circuit and doesnt blow that fuse....

3) truck sat for a week, had windshield replaced professionally during that time. go to start it today and new battery is completely dead, really dead. on charge now. so first thing that i usually do is check for a doors open, lights left on etc... all was ok and off. with everything closed, i checked the current draw and its pulling a steady 0.5amp. so i have been looking at the GEM module on the forums and how they go bad, especially after windshield replacement because of a leak. i pulled the fuse that typically kills power to that circuit, number 14 or 15, i pulled both. current draw dropped to 0.3amps after that. still to high

so pulled gem out, dry as a bone and fuse box is also dry. interior in car is also dry. also they had both been replaced before, best i can tell they are Ford parts. manufacture date is 2009 on both labels. My next step is to swap out the GEM module but really wanted yalls opinions on the problems above before i drop 450.00 on a new module. is there something else i should look at? let me know. feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Keep doing your parasitic draw test on other circuits to find what's pulling power. be sure interior lights and hood light are off when you're doing this.

will do. didnt get a chance to test the circuits under the hood, but did pull all the fuses under the dash looking for the culprit.

OK two fuses on box under hood. Positions 102 and 103 which are abs and junction block battery feed. Pull those two and current draw drops to 20mA which isn't normalish. Any thoughts?

Is there a change in draw when you pull 102 but not 103?

Which year, engine and model?

OK here is what has happened, abs motor burned up, melted wire going from side of motor to motor control box attached to abs unit. I unplugged that connection and that took care of the current draw on that circuit. That cut the current draw from .5amp to .25amp. Went back to under dash fuse panel and pulled #15 5amp fuse and that was the other .25amp draw.

Question now is what has the burned up abs motor caused in damage to other circuts? Do y'all think they are related? Going to check the alternator tomorrow because of erratic charging behavior.

01 expedition Ed with 5.4 fully loaded less sun roof. 120k od

If it hasn't been blowing fuses on the other circuits then there isn't anything to worry about.

Fuse on cruise control and rear parking assist has been blowing...also going to try completely unplugging abs cable. Ran out of daylight today
