Bio:
Ford has always been a name in the family. I have a '97 Cobra convertible in the garage, and the company vehicle is a 2010 Transit(no comments on that one
.
I came from an Explorer. 2nd owner, '96 Limited, with everything. After 150,000 miles, and road salt, nature was not being nice to it. We departed reluctantly just a hair over a year ago. I searched for a new Explorer, a 2011 was well within my budget. But it seems to Ford, the Explorer was expendable!
A new 2010 Expedition EL was in the right price range but a few months ago, I noticed new 2011's starting to fall into my range. Called a few dealerships around the country and by the time I had a price I wanted, the options I wanted were no longer available :-(
A local dealership offered something no one else(of 7) dealerships tried. $8,000 off sticker, and custom order it right out of the factory. This has been a 1 month wait that was well worth it.
Picked up my beauty on Monday evening, the 3rd. Sterling grey Limited EL. With Navi, rear bucket seats, and without DVD. I was a bit dismayed at the headrest DVD option. I could just buy $250 seat bags with DVD players.
I have not regretted my choice one minute. Although, I am only down to 3/4 a tank and just broke the 100 mile mark on the odo today..it's still early
I am hitting google pretty hard. I have been driving it around town every day trying out a different feature/function. There are so may goodies, I just realized today that I haven't even taken it out of 2WD.
Does anyone lower their Expedition? Not talking about fender rubbing. Seems everyone wants BigFoot parked in their front yard. This beast already sits up so high when people walk by the have to duck under the side mirrors.
I have many more posts to make here with questions about assorted future mods, and "what's this?".
