Im in MN, bought my 2020 limited stealth 100k miles from Freeman toyota in Santa Rosa CA. Had them bring it to a local shop up the road for a PPI. The PPI passed with flying colors minus the coolant reservoir being bone dry. Guy said no signs of leaks. They filled it up, pressure tested it and said no issues. It sat for a week waiting for transport and held coolant fine.
I get it home and after a few weeks of driving notice coolant in the garage... I havent dove in to figure out exactly where (not a diy guy YET) but it seems to be mostly after driving that I see it dripping. In the morning, there is a puddle, but the dripping has stopped. After filling to max, it will leak down pas min line after about 5 days of driving.
First, lets say the PPI was telling the truth. What would allow the pressure test to pass, but then it leaks after driving?
Second, are a lot of these potential failure points a diy level? Im willing to buy the right tools. I work on my ride mower and other small engines replacing gaskets. Yes, there vehicles are much bigger beasts...
Second, where should I look to identify leaks? theres so much plastic on top of the engine obscuring direct line of sight. And would it be helpful to get my own pressure tester?
