Hello all, just bought a 2010 with 50k miles on it. I have a couple questions if you don't mind helping me out. The driver window is very slow going up. I saw something on the forum here about a spring and some lube. Can anyone explain this to me or should I replace the motor?

Also it has a auto dimming mirror and the mirror seems dim all the time even during the day and according to the manual it is supposed to undim when put in reverse but it doesn't do anything when I put the truck in reverse. Has anyone else had any issues with this?

Thanks
Shane

Welcome to the Board, and congrats on the new truck.

If you bought the truck at a deallership, take it back and have them replace the window regulator. Also have them check the passenger side. The window regulators in the Expeditions are cable drive and are a pain in the butt to work on. The problem ususally stems from a frayed cable in the regulator that can not be removed or repaired seperatley from the rest of the regulator mechanism.

If you bought the truck from a private seller, see if they will give you some cash to get it replaced.

As per the rear view mirror, it should not change when you put the truck in reverse. At least my 2008 doesn't.

Good luck.

The auto dimming rearview mirror only dims when it detects light coming from the rear, such as another vehicle behind you.
You can try testing it by shining a light at the small holes at the bottom of the mirror at night ( see crappy photo below) The mirror should dim, then while continuing to shine the light on the holes put the vehicle in reverse and it should return to normal state.
You could also test it by having someone park there vehicle behind you at night and turn on their headlights and see what happens.
Also make sure none of the sensor holes on mirror (front and back) are blocked. I've seen where some dealerships like to put a small sticker with their logo on the backside of mirrors to advertise.

Thanks for the replies. I will check out the mirror. It is stuck in the dim mode and you can barely see out of it during the day.
