Greetings to all. I have a 2009 Ford Expedition, 5.4 L engine. Just died today while I was driving down the road. Started it up, drove a half a mile, chugged to a stop, then when I would turn the ignition it would almost start but sounded like fuel starvation. Had it towed to a mechanic that I know and he said the computer was telling it that the throttle was open? It would not take any fuel. So he reset everything with the scanner and it works fine. While driving down the road now though I noticed that the fuel MPG indicator seems to be erratic and I'm just not sure what it is. Anybody had any problem like this in the past? No codes, no check engine lights nothing. Just checked to a stop and would not start again until the scanner reset it.

Found the problem. It was a loose Cable on the hot terminal of the battery. Evidently it jiggled, confused the computer,so it couldn't find the throttle. It read the throttle as fully open, so that's the problem. Tightened up the cable and all seems to be fine

Well first in for most names Howard I just bought and fully registered the vehicle this month and i love the truck it feels good driving it but there are some serious issues I've countered while I am in motion. My truck grinds and rumbles when slightly pressing the gas peddle of going 15 to 20 miles while on red light
even up on hills it kept preventing smooth coast i have to punch it to get up at the hill, plus when i put in reverse it will not engage till i punch it again to jerk it back in place im starting to get scared and nervous of driving it, can someone please help me figure out this problem so I can save this 247,000 mile high mileage vehicle thanks.

If you are posting about a problem and looking for an answer, you're better off posting in the section appropriate for your generation truck...this section is for new members just saying "hi" and showing their new ride.
