I was involved in a horrible T-bone accident in late February, and my truck saved my life. Unfortunately, it was a total loss.

Fortunately, I was able to find a very gently used 2022 Timberline with the high package. I have been making some small changes with Forscan, like bambi mode. I have not been able to get the numbers above the dial gauges, not sure what I am doing wrong there.

I found a rhino rack platform, will be upgrading the tires, and cannot seem to find a winch mount to save my life.

At some point I will need to get my radios into the truck - thinking inside the console cubby with a remote head on a bulletpoint mount. I will also need to do some lighting, both off road and emergency.

Anyhow, hello from West Texas. Northwest transplant.

Commercial? Ham radio? GMRS? CB?

I've had my 2024 Limited for a year and still scratching my head about where to put radios.

What do you plan to do for antennas?

It is an ICOM 5100 that does amateur and GMRS. I plan to put the antenna on a roof rack or on a fender mount. The radio may go under the seat with the head on a bulletpoint mount.

A VHF commercial may need to go in depending on the vollie department. I'm retired career and keeping my options open in a new area.

I'm open to ideas.

Good input, thank you. I have long discovered that RFI chokes are also useful in a modern installation. My previous vehicle would activate a ditch light during keydown until I choked the heck out of it.

If you plan on doing any towing, you may want to invest in an upgraded rear anti-sway bar from Hellwig and some Coil SumoSpring helper springs to help level it out. I pulled a mini-excavator to help a friend right after I bought mine last year, but I didn't like its towing characteristics much. The softer, off-road-inspired suspension means there is a little more body roll in the curves, and it becomes more pronounced when pulling medium to heavy loads. Plus, it squats pretty deep when it's loaded down. The SumoSprings reduce a good bit of it. I just upgraded to a Hellwig anti-sway bar in the rear a week ago, and there is a noticeable reduction in the amount of body roll when cornering. I have not had a chance to tow anything since the install, though.
