I was pulling a tree stump out today and she wouldn't shift into 4 low. It shifts from 2wd to AWD and 4 hi. Shift into neutral and switch to 4 low does nothing. It stays in 4 hi. I didn't have time to troubleshoot. The tree stump lost the battle. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks. Yes, I look at schematics all day at work. I also found a few videos on youtube that go through troubleshooting the 4wd system.

Cool, thanks! I'm wondering if I did a bone head move and not have my foot on the brake pedal when I tried to shift.

Well, it shifted just fine into 4lo with my foot on the brake. Doh. Thanks for the wiring schematic. The note on it about applying the brake is what got me to thinking about it.

you can shift into 4hi while the vehicle is moving but you should be at a complete stop or almost stopped to shift into 4lo and that is why you need to have the brakes applied
