The previous owner musta never used the 4x4 option on my expy. I have been able to successfully get it into 4low once and never again.. What do I need to do to correct this?

I must ask the obvious questions. Did you stop. Put it into neutral and then try it. Takes a second or two.

Yes, I did all that.. It goes into 4high and awd just fine, just doesn't go to 4L. It did once.. but never again.

Now you have made me curious, I have never tried to get mine to work. as soon as the other half brings it home, ill give it a go. But my buddy had his 2003 expy stuck in 4lo. I suggested a random thing " disconnect the battery" like i always do for everything lol he left it over night, and then we started it up and bam it popped out of 4lo and it now selects all the time. worth a shot while i do some research when i get to a computer, it wont hurt right?

I heard that backing up sometimes will pop it out if it is stuck in 4 low. Think the theory there is it may relieve tension if any between the front and rear axle allowing it to come out easier.

Yeah... reboot the puter always worth a shot..can't hurt.

Check fuses, relay, connectors and grounds for corrosion, shift motor?

beat on the transfer case shift motor on the back of the transfer case - don't wail on it, but a rubber, or nylon mallet - and a few taps - maybe a wooden stick - mine was not moving when I got it - did this and now it works fine - remember to shift it ATLEAST once a month through 4 high, 4 low, 4AWD, and 2WD - and you'll be fine

my awd quit but the 4hi and 4lo still work fine, do ya'll think it could be a similar problem?

In awd it will pop in and out going down the road, shakes the whole vehicle
