I've fallen in love with my '97 XLT 5.4l Expy!
It lives for bad weather and driving on the beach!

Great idea! We just did a route 66 to the grand canyon trip. She is a keeper for sure.

I couldn't ask for a better vehicle, been in the family since brand new. Was handed down to me 3 years ago when it was replaced by a 2009 black limited expo, now mine has 190k on it and runs awesome

I think I'm on month 5 and I'm STILL loving my old Expy!!!!
What a great truck! I'm debating getting the rust stripped off and keeping her forever!

I love my Expy, I was driving a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L- Fully loaded, leather, options up the but and 20+ MPG, by all means a very nice car. My Expy came through my dad's car lot and I had to have it despite the rust on the rockers and 10mpg. I parked the Honda and drove home in the Expy and haven't looked back since.

I had a 97 F-150 ext cab stepside when I was 16 and I loved it! It had the 5.4 and leather interior, it was loaded! Screwed up and dad sold it. When I ran across this 99 Navi I had to have it. I literally just got back from Afghanistan on the Dec 8th and this was in my driveway on the 9th!

I love it except for doing the spark plugs LOL. It's got its quirks but its 13yrs old. No one took care of it so I am trying to catch up with the maintenance. So far I have done the following....

Fluids change
Plugs
COP boots
PCV valve and elbows
Cleaned MAF
Cleaned IAC
Cleaned IAT
Air filter
Fuel filter
Cleaned TB

Runs like new now. Next on the list is to rebuild the front end as all the joints are shot. Probably gonna raise and swap the upper arms 2", flip the lower BJs and tierods to fix the camber and bump steer problems.

After that, get rid of the hideous wheels for some 22-24's. Not sure on what size yet.

Ours was an acquired taste for me.

Had she not been so damned pig headed about an Expy, We would have had a Tahoe/Burb insted of it 3 years ago.

I have fallen enough in love with it I was looking at first gen Navi's for my new Krawler platform when I found my 'Bourbon.

The feel of the Triton 5.4 as it pulls through the ZF... sexual. Can't wait til I get my BP tune on it.

I really like my 2000 EB edition. 115k and it runs great. Going to give her a little love with some maintenance. With this recent snow storm we had, the Epxy really shined. Just put her in 4x4 hi and away we went throw the 2' drifts covering about a mile of county road. Even got us back in after the road drifted back shut.
