Just a heads up we took our 2019 platinum in for first oil change at dealership. Got it back and pulled out of their parking lot and noticed check engine light was on. Took it back and they said the oil filler cap was about 1/4 turn loose and that messed with the sensor for the evap system. It was an easy fix but not something that I would have thought would cause a check engine light to come on.

So - the technician didn’t do his job right, and failed to tighten the oil lift cap?

Correct! Techs error.

I was surprised how sensitive engines are these days.

The reason for writing this though is that we spent another 1.5 hrs waiting for them to put it back on scanner to see what code pulled up then take for a test drive to make sure it was fixed. Had I known what to check I would have been on my way in a few minutes.

I don't trust dealer especially Ford dealers for simple oil change and tire rotations. They hire a bunch of no skilled people in the oil bay. My co-worker brought in the F150 for oil change and rotation. He picked up the truck, drove around the parking lot and the rear wheel almost fell off. Tech forgot to tight the lugs and they were barely holding on :)

Another dealer oil change story, went in for the first free oil change at 5000 miles and that night I had a puddle of oil under my Expedition. Crawled under there and immediately saw that they did not tighten the oil filter tight enough...... :whymewhyme:... so I tightened it up myself and all is well. I have one more free oil change to go, but I doubt I will use it as I don;t trust this dealership to perform the simplest of tasks...
