P0390 and P0394 codes today, no oil pressure a week ago

Yeah I am reading that now. I always changed ahead of the oil monitor. Don't think ever 7k but maybe 5 or 6 once or twice (again earlier than oil life monitor suggested). Reading now that 5 seems to be the max and lots of folks change every 3-4...will certainly never use the oil life monitor going forward.

Mechanic has used Mobil 1 filter and mobile 1 full synthetic with each oil change.

Had the low oil light twice and both times I was very close to my destination. First time it was not near my house so I had it towed back to get it looked at. Second time I was half a mile from home. Possible the sensor was not working well and had more pervasive oil starvation?

Dealer says I'm still under warranty through the fall so shouldn't be paying anything out of pocket. Trying to find out if they're giving me a new motor or a remanufactured.

Has anyone had luck forcing Ford to put the new phasers in when they've had them done? Would hate to have the original OEM model put back in the car (again).

By chance, did your low oil pressure occur during Auto Start/Stop? When the engine stops, oil press will go to zero. Normal.

What do you believe this would indicate, if it had? I am having this exact issue, after an auto start/stop.

I was simply pointing out that during an engine auto stop, the oil pressure will drop to zero while the engine is off, but return to normal after the engine restarts. This low oil pressure might take someone by surprise if they didn't realize it was during the engine off period.

I have a 2023 platinum, so my gauges clusters is all digital. Did an oil change today and noticed that while at the stop light, auto start/stop kicked the engine off and after 5 seconds the digital oil pressure gauge dropped to like 25% (just an estimate of what I see) then once I start going again the engine kicks on normal and pressure goes back to 50% (middle of the gauge). This seems normal? I just have never noticed this before now Im all in my head about it. Thanks!

This is normal, once the engine cuts off you should have little to no oil pressure. Once it restarts oil pressure should come back to about 1/2 way up the gauge

This exact thing was what was triggering my low oil pressure issue on my '18. The SMP sensor was either faulty or incompatible, and needed a motorcraft replacement. Your note about this, made me check that, and sure enough it was a clear trigger for the problem.
