Panasonic overhead dvd player and fm modulator question

I bought an expedition, it has a panasonic overhead dvd player with the wireless headsets. The headsets work great. It also has a FM modulator wired in with a frequency switch mounted on the dash. I cannot get the fm modulator to work. The indicator light doesnt come on when i push the button. Does anyone know if theres a setting on the player itself that may activate the modulator? I did a quick look and couldnt figure it out, I was hoping it was a setting rather than having pull the unit down to investigate.

Fm mods usually wire right to the unit either by hard wiring or RCA and turn in by switch or ignition.
