There is a battery drain in my 1997 Expedition XLT, as noted in my older post. The drain is 5.46A. I am receiving a DVD manual from a great member soon, but until then, anyone have any ideas? Is it possible that my JVC Radio is draining it? Also, there is a cord above it fitted into the open space that was left over after stock radio was removed, since that thing was giant. But it is simply a cord that a USB fits into, I am being told that it is part of the Bluetooth system..But I don't see why that would be. I honestly don't think it's part of the stereo kit. Could a cord like that possibly drain 5.46A?http://www.usbgear.com/images/USB3-Extension-6FT.jpg
The left port is one that is fit above radio...I assume it was put there to charge things, by plugging a USB into it.

In the electrical section I've posted a sticky that links to a video on how to find the draw. Usual culprits are lights staying on, gem issues and a bad alternator staying energized.

I clamped a multimeter to battery and disconnected fuses one by one, both in the engine compartment, and in driver's side. Not even a single drop in A after doing so.

When dealing with electricity it is better to think logically.
Logic would state that:
1) It is on another circuit that you haven't pull a fuse on or
2) There is an additional circuit that has been added or
3) Alternator has a draw - disconnect the plugs on it, leave the wire with the eyelet on (+12v).
4) You missed a fuse (I've done it...)

Nothing from the factory is unprotected: either fuses or fusible links were used during production.

He hasn't stated any changes have been made so I would expect it is still 5.46 amps. A pretty good draw.

I would expect the alternator, a light is stuck on or the GEM is getting a signal to keep a circuit energized will be the cause.
