Park Brake Limited Function Service Required

Hi Everyone!

2020 Navi here and I've seen this code pop up after driving for roughly 15-20 min. Sometimes it goes away after a restart and sometimes the code stays after a shut down and restart.

I tried pulling the codes w a cheaper Amazon scan tool but nothing came up active nor was anything stored.

I haven't tried but does cycling the parking brake help?

I've also seen a video where the actual wire harness from the e-brake caliper gets word out and creates a fault. This is the part that most buy to fix.

I had this someone random fault and it was one of the e park brake wires simply broke. I snipped out the bad section and crimped in so new wire, shrink tubed the connection and wrapped in tape and back inside the loom and it was all good. Of course I started with the driver side which was fine, but passenger side the loom was caked with mud inside and I saw green copper wire corrosion mixed in and knew it had to be in there.

I experienced this behavior/message about a year ago with my '18 Limited.

On the repair notes it says "Repair wires at left parking brake motor harness per SSM 52881".

Probably not all that descriptive of a note, but seems to match what @2019XLT describes above in that ithe cause was an electrical fault.
