so yesterday i picked up a twin bed, & naturally i needed to fold up my rear seats. the smaller seat on the passenger side, no problem. however i was having issues w/ laying the bench seat down. i pulled the lever on the side & tried pulling the bench up (just like the smaller seat on the passenger side) & it seems like it's stuck. tried looking under the seat but didn't see any type of release cord. anyone had this happen to them before? thanks in advance.

are you rtying to fold forward the whole seat or fold down the back? my friend borrowed my truck a few months ago and said they couldnt get the same seat to fold like the pass side, it doesnt lol

that said, i know mine sticks a bit sometimes, when your pulling the the handle push/pull the seat back a bit at the same time.

The fold down option i think gives a better overall cargo capacity in the back over all. The passenger side flips up only cuz people climb back there for the back seats(sorry to state the obvious) which i have utilized many times. To flip up means you gain a bit of depth but you lose a foot or so in length.

well i think i may have found out my rear bench seat may be either stuck or the release latch is broke :fca5278d: . all it does is recline back, the fold down (flat) option does seem to be working. guess i will wait 'til i get home so i can spend a little more time on it, not to mention have to be worried 'bout getting all sweaty while i'm @ work.

i actually dropped it off @ the dealer where i bought it from 2 weeks ago. i noticed the other morning the heat doesn't work in the front compartment of my Expy, just the 2nd & 3rd row areas. read online that it's most likely the blend door actuator& they're going to be fixing that as well as take a look @ my rear bench seat.

well after further diagnoses they found the problem w/ my rear bench seat is that they cable that is hooked onto the fold down latch came off. so in order for my to get the seat to fold down is to use a pair of pliers & pull on the cable. chinsy way of doing it, but it beats having to buy a new rear bench seat.

why not get it replaced? You can get that cable and the ends from Home depot and make one yourself.......

Sorry just found this reply...is there anyone out there with instructions on how to adjust the cable for the rear seat fold down? Mine appears to be "stretched" out and will not pull the release....

Thanks
