I have seen the rear cargo setups (not in person, but in this ad: http://www.expeditionforum.com/f68/leather-expedition-seats-like-new-19917/) before, and wondered if there was a way to add a rear cargo cover in the 03-06 Expy?

Any thoughts, pictures, and feedback are welcomed!

I also wanted to put a rear cargo cover in the truck, but it seemed like all of them limited the use of the third row seat, unless I planned ahead of time that I was going to need the seat.

There wouldn't be much to cover if your 3rd row was up, if I'm getting what you mean. I was thinking of using my old cargo shade out of an '84 Z28 I once had.
That covered a large area under that big glass tail hatch of the Camaro, which is probably close to that of the rear cargo area with the thirds folded down on the Expy. It's just a matter of mounting the pockets that the shade rests in to the left/right rear side panels. If you needed to just cover behind the thirds, you would mount a second set of pockets further back that would require repositioning the shade back to those mounts, and opening the shade just a little, to cover that area. A lot of cars came with cargo shades in the eighties and nineties when hatchbacks were probably more popular. It's just a matter of seeing what the wrecking yards can come up with or what's still available at the dealer's parts dept.

Thanks for your reply! I'm actually talking about a tonneau in the back area, only to be used when the third for is folded down; I hardly ever use the third row. As long as I can find one around the right width and brackets available with it, it should be a somewhat straight-forward install.

I may have to start measuring, and scouting the junkyards! I wouldn't say that they are no longer used, I have seen them in several late model Subarus, and other brands/models as well.
