2011, when I put it into 4x4 high and turn left or right, the rear wheels still turn the same speed. (My repair shop was watching) what should I be looking as the cause. It doesn't do it in 2 we. So does this mean it's a front wheel drive and the rear wheels kick in when I engage 4x4?

All Expeditions are rear wheel drive, with an optional 4x4 tcase to spin the front wheels.

Perhaps you have an electronically locking rear differential on yours? Or traction control doing funny things while all 4 wheels are in the air on a lift? (turn TC off and see)

Bring it to Ford for proper diagnosis, they'll tell you what's up with it. No offense, but your repair shop can't seem to tell their own head from their ass...

Thanks. Most of my question was from myself. This is my first timewith a 4x4, so please be gentle.

As 762mm said, do it again with traction control off and see what happens.

Are you doing this with the truck on a lift with all the tires off the pavement? That's the ultimate no-traction condition.

As noted all Expeditions are RWD. My '17 has an off-road display on the dash that shows where the power is routed. In 2H it only shows RWD but in 4A it shows power to all 4 wheels normally weighted to the rear. Is that display available on your dash? (My '07 didn't have it.)
