I am installing SuperBright LED light strip on my 2023 Expedition Max Limited. Is there an special installation instructions for doing this? With all the towing, trailer, and trailer sway controls, I will be hooking up to the 4 prong connector for power, brake, and turn signal. I have to splice into the left rear light reverse wire for reverse to work. Will I have any problems with the computer and the settings for towing, trailer, and sway control???

I want to install a tailgate light bar on our 2018 Expedition Max Platinum. So far I've been told many different stories about how it's not a good idea or spend $300.00 in labor to mount it up high to run the wiring. The latest from a respected aftermarket truck accessory shop is that mounting it to the bumper will interfere with the sensors. In addition, mounting it on the bumper provides no protection for the light strip. Also have read that plugging it into the 4-prong connector will cause the system to think there is a trailer connected. I'm opposed to hardwiring everything except the backup light which won't interfere with any modules that control the lights. Have searched YouTube for any install info and came up blank. Not giving up but it will require more research. Good Luck

I installed the LED light strip using the 4 prong trailer connector, and splicing into the left light assembly reverse wire. Now I have the trailer disconnected flashing, and other messages. Is there a way to to all this off?

That's what I was afraid of, and one reason I have not installed one using the 4-prong trailer connector. My wild guess is every wire has to be spliced to the appropriate wires behind the taillights.
