I have a 2010 EB Expedition. I recently noticed a tapping sound coming from the rear woofer which is beside the 3rd row seats. This tapping doesn't start happening until I drive it for a while and go over a few bumps. When I turn of the engine (with the electrical power still on to radio) it continues. It is a steady tapping sound.

I was thinking it might be a loose wire, so i tried to remove the woofer cover, but I'm afraid I'll break the cover if I pry it off. I have attached a photo of the cover.

Any help understanding how to remove the cover and thoughts on the tapping sound is appreciated.

Thx
Mark

I dont think you can remove the cover from the front. Pop off the tray piece above it and look down inside, I believe the cover has some sort of clips holding it. To take the woofer assembly out you have to take the entire side panel off.

Thx

Thx for the guidance. It is starting to look like something up on the main tuner. When the tapping sound starts, we noticed that we can cause additional sound to come from the rear woofer by tapping firmly on the radio itself.

Thx again.
