I have a '10 Exped. with the capless fuel filling system. To me this system would seem vulnerable to water and debris intrusion. Does anybody know if the filler neck assembly from an earlier vehicle ( maybe '08 - '09 ) could be installed to allow the use of a conventional cap ?

the capless system, but there is a internal cap that has to be properly pushed opened with either the supplied supplied white funnel or a gas pump.

i tried pouring gas in without the white funnel, and with the system not properly activated, everything came out onto the floor from the inside. don't think you have to worry.

Too bad we aren't closer, I would swap you filler necks. I hate the cap, dangling down scratching the paint every time I fill the tank.

You do know there is a small hook on the inside of the filler door to hold the gas cap cable to while pumping fuel so it doesn't scratch anything, right ???

Mine must be broken off. I thought it was weird that this truck had nothing to hang the cap from.

I put a little stick on hook on the inside of my gas filler door to hang the cap on.
