I am in the middle of replacing the rear shocks on a 2001 Expedition. I am wondering if there are any tricks to replacing the driver side rear shock? I have gotten the lower bolt loose, but the top one is in between the gas tank and frame.

If it's anything like a 2002 F150 crew, then it's a PITA! No real trick, just lots of small turns with the wrench.

Ok, Thank you for your answers. This whole conversion has been a pain in the ass, Both the bolts on the struts in the front (the ones on the bottom) were rusted in there and where I'm working doesn't have the amount of tools I am use too. :( The only side that hasn't given me problems was the rear passenger.
