I've done some searches on here and other places but can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for. Hoping someone here can impart some knowledge on me.

I have order replacement billet emblems for the front and rear of my 17 limited. The rear looks pretty straight forward but I'm wondering how to take off the front emblem in the grill? Is it held in with clips and I just pull it off? Is there tape behind it? Is there a nut holding it on? A combination of things? Can i remove it without having to take the front fascia and grill off?

I'd also like to swap out the chrome exterior door handles for color matched ones? Do they sell them or is the best option to just get them painted at a body shop. i will probably have the rear chrome trim piece painted as well.

You have registration pins that go through the mounting plate. I think there are some speed nuts that clip on from the back side of the grille. You can get a better look if you take off the top radiator shroud that covers the latch and the top of the grille. Then you can get your hand down there. There may or may not be tape, I guess that depends on whether or not anybody had every replaced it before.

I know that the 05 had color coded door handles and they are still the same if I remember correctly but more than likely, you are going to get unpainted stock and will have to take it to a body shop to have it painted or try painting it with a rattle can but you might not be able to replicate the finish that way.

If 15-17 is anything like 07-14, then yeah its on nuts

You could probably buy chrome (lol) handle covers, scuff-sand the chrome, and paint those

thanks for the info. it is a new 17 so it sounds like just getting behind there and remove the nuts, pop it off and install the new one.

the door handles i was hoping came color matched on other trim or option packages that i could trade with someone that wanted the chrome. However I will probably just take it to the shop to get it painted

My 07 had no nuts. Just double sided tape and a couple guide pins to get the alignment right

My 17 Limited had color matched inserts but the handles themselves are chrome I thing the low end models may just have color matched handles.

my limited is the same way. I have the black appearance package so the only chrome on it are the handles and the rear trim piece

That sounds like aftermarket & non-licensed, or maybe a hack install

... "guide pins" are supposed to actually have a special nut-like thingie, self-threading by the looks of it, go on them.

Original front emblems had shit paint on em in those days at least, and lost their looks pretty fast. Although you COULD wipe it down with a solvent, even rubbing alcohol in fact, and knock it down to an unpainted "chrome-like" metallic logo... once the worn blue oval enamel came off, the rest of it was fairly durable

It was 100% oem and no way thread a nut it anything on. I replaced mine because of the fading blue and removed the entire grill thinking there would be nuts or clips. All parts stamped FoMoCo. Maybe the 07 didnt have these nut things you speak of? The new oem emblem had the same type of guide pins and I purchased it from my dealer

Its not a nut-nut...its this flimsy self-tapping metal screwon thingie.

You mightve sheared off the threads and lost the things when you were pulling your emblem off
