I have a 2012 Expedition EL, King ranch. I bought the car used a year ago and it has 23k miles on it. Today my bracket on my retractable running board snapped in half, Ford wants $2,500 to fix it. Is there any place I can just buy the bracket?

Does it look like a separate piece? I've heard of dealers/manufacturers selling entire assemblies instead of breaking them down and selling the component parts so if that's the case, maybe calling a bunch of junk/salvage yards might produce some results that will sell you just the piece that you need?

I'm with you though, 2500 when you only need a single piece is nuts!

You also might want to take a look here:

motors, brackets, entire boards.....the internet is your friend bud!

Yep, it is one piece, not modular at all. The brackets are made from cast aluminum, poor design in my opinion based on the pieces required use. I figured out a way to piece it back together, which will hold it until I can find something at the junk yard
