someone sent a link on a thread about a company in California that retrofit head lights...i've been talking via email/phone and this guy is so cooperative in putting together the perfect head light to the customer's liking it's rediculous...so i've just finalized what i'm looking for in my retorfit...around $575 including shipping...lightwerkz wanted $950 for the retrofit!!!

once they receive the head lights they will send update photos during the build as progress moves on and will validate with you the direction the build is going...anytime during the build you may change the build if its not what you looking for...add/subtract items from double projectors, CCFLs, LEDs, to colors...so far outstanding...

i ordered a set of headlights and will be sending them out for the retrofit hopefull this weekend or sometime during next week...if the work turns out like the photos on the website...i'll retrofit my fogs too...

Sounds cool!! I hope they will pass VA State Inspection :( My friend has a Honda Prelude and he did something similar to that and when he had it inspected they rejected the car because of the headlights. So I would probably keep the originals just in case.

haha I actually thought about that after I posted because my neighbors are military and still have Hawaii plates even though they've been here like 2 years.

Slight of hand.

I put two 55 watt driving lights dead center of my truck. They come on with the parking lights. Then i added 80/100 watt h7 bulbs with high temp plugs.
So low beams equal 270 watts and high beams have 310 watts. The results are great and i spent 45 bucks. No flashing lights from on-coming traffic. No glare.

Next step is a set of blacked out euro style headlamps.:D

keep your old 55/60 bulbs for inspectors. swap out as needed.

i was wondering where you were going with all of that...you added lights and changed bulbs...my head lamps are being reconstructed...with LEDs and CCFLs

what are you having done , leds ccfls, projectors?

im getting my headlights retrofitted with projectors...they will have angel eyes and LEDs mimicking the audi R8...most get the LEDs at the bottom of the lights...mine will be at the top.

so instead of the ebay projector headlights with the angel eyes that barely light up....

something like this...

with the LEDs on the top instead of bottom as shown in pic

What projectors are they putting in there? You're doing quad projector set up?

Did the prelude have FTP halogen high beams? If it was just bi-xenon projectors in there, the HIDs don't usually warm up fast enough to be really used as FTP lights.

EDIT:
I'm guessing they're going to use projectors like these: http://www.f150online.com/forums/2004-2008-f-150/420777-ncsus-hid-retrofit-headlights-7.html

Not bad, but def. not the best. But for the price, who cares :p

Flash to pass (pulling back on the high beam lever).

As I said before, there are better projectors. FX-R (bixenon, 2.5" diameter), TL (bi-xenon, 3.0"). There's also E-55s for a cheaper solution. But, as I said, I'd just stick to what you're getting. The other guy seems to be happy with his, plus, I'm sure the cheaper projectors are what is keeping the price down.
