We have an '08 that I have the oil change reminder set at 60%. I like changing the oil more frequently than the 100% setting.
We've recently picked up a 2015 as well. I'd like to set the reminder on it the same. Can't find how to do it in the manual. Is there a way??
Thanks.

The new 15-17s are not able to set that option. I would just keep an eye on it every now and then in the dashboard menu

I recall I could set my 2007 oil monitor to whatever percent I wanted using the same way it could be reset to 100% and just keep tapping the button. There were no changes made between 2007 and 2008 that I could find yet the 2008 schedule allowed 7500 miles on the oil vs 5000 on the 2007. When my '07 told me to change the oil I reset the counter to 50% and drove to the 7500 mile mark. 10 years and 175K-ish miles. Full synthetic 0W-20 in this engine.

Using full synthetic motor oil I can't see any reason to change it before the maintenance schedule calls for it and maybe not then unless an oil analysis calls for it but these are not convenient and the cost is a good percentage of what 5 quarts of oil costs. There are distance and time intervals and I'm not convinced I need to change my oil other than at the distance mark -- although I do. I just drained full synthetic from one of my other cars at the 12 month mark even there was only 2000 miles on the oil. The last annual Expedition service was at roughly 5000 miles or half the 10,000 mile schedule.

My wife's car has two maintenance schedules for engine oil. The full synthetic schedule is twice as long as conventional oil.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll just keep track of it.
Yes, I know it's possible that it's not completely necessary to change so often. However, my 2008 with almost 400,000 km trouble-free on it and still going strong, says I'm not hurting it with this regimen. I have put 2 sets of new plugs in it.
Hope the '15 makes it this far.
